Welcome to Call Me Pinderella: Let’s Make Pinterest Work for Your Business
Hello, and welcome to Call Me Pinderella — the corner of the internet where we talk Pinterest strategy, content, traffic and what you’re actually supposed to do with the 47 boards you created three years ago.
I’m Hayley, Pinterest strategist, VA, coach, long-time blogger and the person behind Call Me Pinderella.
And yes, I chose the name because it made me laugh.
Fortunately, I’m considerably more serious about Pinterest than I am about naming businesses.
I’ve been around the blogging block
I’m not new to creating things on the internet.
I’ve spent years blogging, creating content, building websites, working with brands and figuring out the strange little world of online publishing.
I’ve watched platforms arrive, algorithms change and perfectly sensible marketing strategies suddenly stop working because somebody somewhere pressed an update button.
Through all of that, I’ve kept coming back to Pinterest.
Why?
Because Pinterest sits in a fascinating space between search, content and visual discovery.
People aren’t only scrolling.
They’re looking.
They’re planning.
They’re researching.
They’re shopping.
And they’re clicking.
For the right business, that’s enormously valuable.
So, Call Me Pinderella is back
This isn’t actually my first time running a Pinterest business.
I previously ran my Pinterest VA and coaching business while living in London. After some time away, I’ve returned to it — complete with a new name, fresh ideas and considerably more experience.
And apparently Pinterest wasn’t quite finished with me.
Call Me Pinderella now provides Pinterest management, strategy, audits and 1:1 coaching for businesses that want to make better use of the platform.
Some clients want to learn.
Some want a strategy.
And some would quite reasonably prefer to hand me their Pinterest account and never think about it again.
All three are welcome here.
What are we going to talk about?
This blog isn’t going to exist simply because someone once said businesses should have a blog.
I’ve been blogging far too long to fall for that one.
I want this to become a genuinely useful library for people trying to understand Pinterest.
We’ll be talking about things like:
- Pinterest strategy
- Pinterest SEO and keywords
- Creating better pins
- Pinterest for bloggers
- Pinterest for e-commerce
- Content planning
- Seasonal Pinterest marketing
- Understanding Pinterest analytics
- Common Pinterest mistakes
- Creating content people actually want to click
- Real experiments and case studies from my own publishing projects
There will also be practical resources, planners and workbooks for those of you who enjoy getting out a notebook and making A Plan™.
You’re my people.
I’m going to practise what I preach
There’s another reason I’m starting this blog.
I want Call Me Pinderella itself to become a Pinterest case study.
I’ll be creating the content.
I’ll be building the Pinterest presence.
I’ll be experimenting with keywords, pin designs, content formats and strategies.
And when something interesting happens, I’ll be able to talk about it here.
Not just:
“Here’s what I think should work.”
But:
“Here’s what I tried. Here’s what happened. Here’s what I’d do differently.”
That’s far more useful.
A quick word about AI
Let’s deal with this one from the beginning.
I use AI.
I use a hybrid approach to some of my content, where AI assists with parts of the process and I bring the strategy, experience, editing, judgement, fact-checking and final decisions.
I’m not interested in pretending otherwise.
Technology has always changed how we create things online. My interest is in using the tools available while keeping the thinking — and the responsibility for the finished work — human.
You’ll probably hear more about that on this blog too.
Pinterest without the pumpkin carriage
Call Me Pinderella isn’t about promising overnight transformations.
I don’t have a magic wand.
Pinterest doesn’t have a secret button that produces 100,000 monthly visitors.
And no legitimate strategist can guarantee that one particular pin is going to go viral.
What we can do is create thoughtful strategies, understand what people are searching for, produce useful content, make better creative decisions, study the data and keep improving.
That’s the kind of Pinterest marketing I’m interested in.
Less magic.
More method.
Although I’m keeping the crown. 👑
Welcome to the Pinderella era
Whether you’re a blogger wondering why Pinterest isn’t sending traffic anymore, a shop owner trying to get products discovered, a creator starting from scratch or a business owner who simply wants somebody else to deal with the whole thing — you’re welcome here.
Put the kettle on.
Have a look around.
And if your Pinterest account currently needs something approaching a fairy-tale transformation…
Well.
Call Me Pinderella. 📌
